Mumbai – Retired IPS officer Meera Borwankar recently revealed a shocking information about the objectionable behaviour of senior Police officers in an interview with Maharashtra Times Online. She said, ‘When I was working in the Police department, a married Police officer asked me about living together, while another senior Police officer said that I look very beautiful when angry’.

‘As I reprimanded the concerned officials, the senior officials took away my powers. A senior official used to look at me inappropriately. He used to ask me to join him for tea under the pretext of presenting reports to him’, Meera Borwankar said about the shocking experiences. She also expressed disappointment in the interview by expressing the opinion that ‘even if women are in high positions and are over fifty, they can fall prey to evils’.

Editorial Perspectives

  • This shows how the Maharashtra Police Department, which has such adulterous Police officers, is operating ! Will the women in the State be safe under the administration of such Police ?
  • It is better not to imagine about how male Police officers who mistreat a high-ranking female Police officer in their own department would be behaving with ordinary women !
  • Will Women’s Commission take any action on such lustful people ? Or will it keep silent on this issue ?
  • People think that the Government should disclose the identities of the guilty Police officers, and immediately expel them from the service and throw them in jail !
