Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – ISRO Chairman A Somnath’s Malayalam autobiography Nilavu Kudicha Simhangal (roughly translated as – Lions that drank the moonlight) was due to be published next week; but he has withdrawn this publication. It was claimed by many that former ISRO chairman K Sivan was criticised in this autobiography. That caused a controversy. The book is alleged to have claimed that K Sivan (Former Chairman of ISRO) had intervened in the process of appointing S Somnath as Chairman of ISRO. About this S Somnath said that the controversy has arisen as the publisher had given copies of the book to someone before its publication. Therefore, it has been decided to stop the publication of this book.

This autobiography is written not to criticise, but to inspire people – S Somnath

S Somnath said that I have not targeted anyone personally through this book. Individuals in important positions face many challenges. Getting a position in an organisation also has many challenges. Everyone has to face these challenges. Multiple individuals may be eligible for the same post. I have tried to present this same point in the book. I am not targeting any person in this regard. He further clarified that this autobiography is written with the intention of inspiring people who are trying to succeed in the face of life’s challenges and obstacles and is not written to criticise anyone.
