Happy that you understand the pain of children in Gaza; please do speak about Pakistani Hindus as well : Danish Kaneria to Irfan Pathan

Former Pakistani Hindu cricketer Danish Kaneria points out the hypocrisy of former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan

Islamabad / New Delhi – Children from both sides have died in the Hamas-Israel war. More than 3,000 children have been killed so far in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan raised his voice against this by tweeting, ‘Every day, innocent kids aged 0-10 in Gaza are losing lives and the world remains silent. As a sportsman, I can only speak out, but it is high time for world leaders to unite and put an end to this senseless killing’. (Hamas attacked Israel on 7th October and killed 1,500 people, taking 240 hostages, including children, women and the elderly. Irfan must explain why he does not feel like speaking against this! – Editor). Responding to Irfan’s tweet, former Pakistani Hindu cricketer Danish Kaneria requested Irfan to talk about the plight of Pakistani Hindus as well. Danish tweeted, ‘Irfan bhai, I am happy that you understand the pain of children, and I stand with you on that. However, please do speak about Pakistani Hindus as well. The situation is not very different here in Pakistan’. Many people have criticised Irfan for his tweet.

Editorial Perspective

Unfortunately, Indian Hindu cricket players or other sports players never speak about the pain of Indian Hindus; let alone that of Pakistani Hindus! Indian Hindus call some Hindu players ‘God’ and worship them, but these players never speak a single word about the plight of Hindus, especially that of Kashmiri Hindus.
