High Court directs Administration to take back Banke Bihari Mandir’s land in Mathura; seeks an explanation

Prayagraj (UP) – The land belonging to Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura grabbed by Muslims to convert it into a cemetery should be handed over to the temple, ordered the Mathura Bench of Allahabad High Court to the Administrative Officer of Chhata Taluka.

Shri Bihariji Seva Trust moved the Court in this context stating that the land was shown as a Muslim cemetery by colluding with the Revenue officers and altering the records in 2004. On 11th August 2023, the High Court asked for the necessary information in this connection, seeking reasons for carrying out changes in the records about the ownership of this land in 2004.

Ramavatar Gurjar of ‘Dharmaraksha Sangh’ said about this issue that a person named Bhola Khan Pathan of Samajwadi Party, conniving with the Revenue officers, managed to grab the land. Muslims broke down the historic throne of Banke Bihari and built a mazar.

Why does the Court have to issue orders ? Why the Administration doesn’t take action on its own ?
