The arrest and subsequent release of Donald J Trump

Washington (US) – Former President Donald Trump was taken into custody for allegedly interfering in the 2020 Presidential elections. While Donald Trump willingly presented himself at the Police station, the process he underwent resembled that of a common criminal, including the recording of his fingerprints and a mugshot. He was later released on a recognisance bond amounting to 2 hundred thousand US dollars (approximately 1.65 crore rupees).

In statements to journalists, Trump expressed his belief that he was justified in raising concerns about the integrity of the elections, which he perceived as an injustice. He asserted his right to challenge the election results on the grounds of perceived dishonesty.
