New Delhi – A video of armed Kuki terrorists participating in an Independence Day parade in Churachandpur, Manipur has gone viral online. According to Lt Gen (retired) Laiphrakpam Nishikanta Singh, only defence forces have the right to display weapons during parades. Kuki terrorists’ act thus sends a message that there is no one to stop them. In addition to relying on the Government, the Meitei community should also be prepared to fight to protect themselves.
Shocked to see participation of fully armed Kuki militants in I-day parade at Churachandpur. Only security forces display weapons on parade. Kukis sending a message -can get away with anything. Meiteis have to trust in Govt but better be prepared to fight with whatever they have pic.twitter.com/x09A4yhhcQ

Churachandpur is a place of religious tension due to the conflict between the Christian Kuki and Hindu Meitei communities. It was reported a few weeks ago that Kuki terrorists had abducted the members of the Meitei community and burned many of their homes.
