Violence again erupts in Manipur : Terrorists kill 3 people

Imphal (Manipur) – Fresh violence broke out at Manipur’s Kwakta in Bishnupur on the night of the 5th of August, when 3 individuals a father and son, and one other individual were killed. Terrorists shot them while they were sleeping and then later chopped them to pieces with swords. The information given by the Police says that, ‘they were living at the temporary relief camps, but as the situation in the State had improved they had returned to their home in Kwakta on the 4th of August’.

A face off between the security forces and the terrorists

The Police reported that ‘there was fierce firing in Kwakta, between the security forces and the terrorists on Saturday morning in which 3 individuals were injured. The injured have been admitted to hospital in Imphal were their condition is reported to be stable.’ Because of the increase in violent activities the District Administration has imposed stricter curfew in the East and West Districts of Imphal.
