Teacher expels student wearing around neck a ‘saffron gamcha’ with ‘Jai Shriram’ printed on it

  • Outcome of secular education system
  • Same teacher refuses to ask the Muslim girls in the class to remove hijab
  • The teacher apologised after protest by students and devout Hindus

Kolhapur – A college student of first-year commerce wore a ‘saffron gamcha’ with ‘Jai Shriram’ written around his neck. After the class started, a teacher asked him to remove the gamcha around his neck. On this, the student said, “ask the female students in the class to remove the hijab, only then will remove the gamcha”. This led to an argument between the two after which teacher asked the student to leave the class. After this incident, many students of the college came together and staged a sit-in protest. When the activists of Hindu outfits came to know about this, they came to the college and asked for an explanation upon which the concerned teacher apologised.

This incident happened on 17th July. Its video went viral on social media. The student who wore saffron gamcha and gave outright answer to the concerned teacher is being congratulated by Hindu brothers.

Editorial Viewpoints

Due to the secular education system, in a Hindu-majority country, ‘Jai Shriram’ is opposed by the teachers, while Muslim students in the same class wearing ‘Hijab’ are given free rein. Strict action is expected from school administration on such teacher.
