New Delhi – The region of Gilgit-Baltistan from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has been shown as a part of India on Twitter. When the citizens of this area tried to access the official Twitter accounts of the Government of Pakistan, they were denied access. The citizens only realised that Gilgit-Baltistan was being shown as a part of India when they took to Twitter to tweet. Because whenever they sent out a tweet, the tweets were shown to be from India. Their location was shown as Kashmir.
1. When these citizens tried to access the Pakistani Government accounts, they would get the message that ‘These accounts have been blocked by India’. India has banned these accounts since March 2023. These citizens were getting the above message because their location was being shown as Indian Kashmir on Twitter.
2. When these citizens tried to find out from where they were tweeting, they found out it was Jammu-Kashmir. As of writing this article, there is no official response from the Pakistani Government regarding this matter.
