Bokaro (Jharkhand) – Clashes broke out over a ‘DJ’ playing in front of a mosque during wedding of a Hindu family. Further damage was averted as the Police reached the spot and brought situation under control.

A ritual was being performed at the time of wedding at Kamal Mahto’s house in Santhaldih village here. At this time, some women and men took part in marriage procession with a DJ playing. On the way, at the mosque, the Muslims said that it was time for Azaan and asked them to turn off DJ and take another route. This resulted in clashes. Some women were beaten up. As soon as the Police got information about this, they reached the spot and after discussion with both the groups brought situation under control. At present, additional Police force is deployed here.

Editorial Viewpoints

  • Is there a rule in this country about what one should and should not do when passing in front of a mosque ? Police and administration must take strict action to stop such mentality.
  • Muslims who can’t bear the sound of the ‘DJ’, do not talk about the Hindus who suffer because of the Azaan given 5 times daily from the mosque.
