Muslim man from Kerala with links to Islamic State dies in Pakistan’s jail

Karachi (Pakistan) – Zulfikar (aged 48) from Palakkad, Kerala, who was detained in a jail here, has died. His body will be handed over to India. Zulfikar was arrested along with the fishermen for intruding into Pakistan’s maritime border. It was reported that he was associated with the Islamic State. He previously lived in the United Arab Emirates. His wife had left him after learning of his ties to the Islamic State. His relatives in Kerala also severed ties. Now that Zulfikar’s body is being handed over to India by Pakistan, his relatives have confirmed to accept the body.
