Poonch (J&K) – Intelligence agencies have received information about a new terrorist base operating at Sudhanoti in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). It is 35 km from the Line of Control (LoC). This base belongs to the terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen and is run by Pakistan Army officer Ghazi Shahzad.

1. Despite all the claims of the Pakistan Government, the terrorist bases in Bagh and Muzaffarabad in PoK have not been closed.

2. A terrorist base has been operating for several years near Neelum Road, 10 km from Muzaffarabad city.

3. These terrorist bases are running with support from the Pakistan Army and Government and are creating terrorist incidents in J&K.

4. According to the South Asia Terrorism Portal, there are 72 terrorist training camps in Pakistan. It has 55 Al-Qaeda camps.

95% of PoK residents are against terrorism

As per the estimates in PoK, there are 95% of the population out of 4 million are against Pakistan’s plans to spread terrorism in India. People there believe that ‘we will not gain anything from war with India’. But the Government and Army of Pakistan do not allow this voice of the people of PoK to come before the world. According to the organisation ‘Global Watch’, 1,200 people were illegally arrested here last year.

Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed have bases in PoK. Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI serves as a ‘launching pad’ for terrorists who receive training from these bases. It helps them to cross the Indo-Pak LoC with the help of the Pakistan Army.

Editorial viewpoint

This has once again revealed that Jihadi terrorism runs under the supervision of the Pakistani Army. How much more evidence the Indian Government needs to take action against Pakistan ?
