
Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) – Houses of Pakistani refugee Hindu families in the Amar Sagar area were bulldozed by the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT). These Pakistani refugee Hindus have been living here for a long time. The UIT took this action after the order of Collector Tina Dabi. When the UIT came to act upon the order, the women strongly resisted; but these houses were demolished without listening to anyone. More than 50 of their mud houses have been demolished. More than 150 women, men and children are on the streets due to this operation. These houses were built near the lake which is situated at Amar Sagar.
