
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) – India is a secular country. The Uttarakhand High Court has opined that the offense of outraging the religious sentiments of any community cannot be ignored. The Court stated this in the case of a plea to dismiss the case of a crime, where the accused was liable under Section 295 of the IPC.

The Court it is necessary that each and every citizen of India respect all religions. If the act of derogating the other’s religious sentiments is permitted to continue, it rather acts as a parasite, which eats the society itself and creates an uncalled-for animosity resulting in public disorder.
