Gang war between inmates in Delhi’s Tihar prison : One killed, 4 injured

Prince Tewatia, a gangster

New Delhi – Prince Tewatia, a gangster of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was stabbed to death in the Tihar Jail on 14th April. Knives were used to attack four other arrested gangsters. He was seriously injured and hospitalised. The CCTV camera recorded this incident. It was led by a gangster named Attaur Rehman alias Atwa. He works as a bully for Rohit Chaudhary and Ravi Gangwal’s gang. As a result of this incident, the jail has now imposed vigilance in case the Bishnoi gang retaliates. The hooligans made knives out of spoons and plates. Such gang wars have taken place in Tihar in the past, and many arrested gangsters have died.

In-room number 3 of the jail where the incident took place, a search operation was conducted on 9th March. At that time, 23 surgical blades, drugs, 2 mobile phones, and prohibited items were collected from the detainees. (How did such items reach here ? – Editor)

Editorial viewpoint

It is shameful for the Police that such incidents occur consistently in India’s maximum security prison ! It is unimaginable how pathetic the prison law and order situation would be when the criminals are behaving in the same manner in the jail as they behave when outside the jail !
