Dr Jaishankar said that India would not succumb to pressure from countries that dictate where it should buy oil. He emphasised external pressure does not influence the policies of India, and it is now an independent country that does what is in the interest of its citizens and consumers. Hence, India is maintaining a balanced relationship with US and Russia concerning oil. India is benefitting from both of these nations.
