Sonipat (Haryana) – On 9th April a mob attacked a mosque in Sandal Kalan village at night. Those offering namaz were beaten up. Almost 10 people were injured in this attack and have been admitted to the hospital. The Police have arrested some people in connection with this attack. It is being told that this attack happened because people were offering namaz. Currently, the area is tense and quiet but the Police have also maintained tight security. A few days earlier a few Hindu youths had hoisted a saffron flag on this mosque. 5 people were arrested in this case.
Tension prevailed at Sandal Kalan village in Haryana’s Sonepat district after around 20 armed men allegedly attacked people offering prayers and vandalised a mosque a day earlier, police said.

Police Commissioner Satish Balan said that some people in the village entered the mosque and attacked the people offering namaz. It is said that there was no hostility between the 2 groups. The Police however have detained 16 youths and their investigation is on. But in the future strict action will be taken against those who enter religious places without any reason.
