Pro-Khalistan protestors attack Indian High Commission in London !

London (Britain) – Khalistani protesters attacked and vandalised the Indian High Commission in London. They tried to hoist the Khalistani flag by taking down the Indian national flag. The protesters raised slogans in support of Khalistan. An officer of the Indian High Commission bravely resisted the Khalistani protesters and snatched the Khalistani flag from the youths who were trying to hoist it and threw it away. After this incident, tricolor flag was hoisted on the Indian High Commission in a befitting reply to the Khalistani protesters. Currently legal action is being taken in India against Khalistan separatist Amritpal Singh, head of ‘Waris Punjab De’ (Heirs of Punjab) organisation. This has rattled Khalistan supporters. The attack on the Indian High Commission in London is part of the protest against this action.

1. London Police said two members of security staff sustained minor injuries in the attack. An investigation has been launched in this case and one person has been arrested.

2. London Mayor Sadiq Khan tweeted, “There is no place in our city for this kind of behaviour.”

3. British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis termed the incident as “disgraceful”.

Indian Government sought an explanation from the British High Commissioner !

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs expressed its strong displeasure over the incident in London to the British High Commission in India. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs released a statement saying that when the incident took place on the premises of the Indian High Commission, security staff was absent there. The British High Commissioner should explain this.

British Government will take security seriously !

The British Government will take the security of the Indian High Commission in London very seriously, a top British official said. The vandalism at the High Commission was disgraceful and unacceptable, the officials said.
