Tokyo (Japan) – MP Yoshikazu Higashitani has been expelled for remaining absent from the Parliament. This is the first such incident in the history of Japan. Previously, another MP was expelled for misbehaviour. The parliament has expelled only two people since 1950, but this is the first time an MP has been expelled due to persistent absence.
