Mosques are being covered ahead of Holi at some places of UP

Moradabad (UP) – Ahead of Holi, 67 mosques in Shahjahanpur are being covered with cloths. 8 mosques are covered in Sambhal. Maulana Sadaqat Hussain threatened riots at a Police peace meeting before Holi in Moradabad. After the video in this context went viral, the Moradabad Police tweeted that a case has been registered against Maulana Hussain and he has apologised. “I did not intend to hurt anyone’s religious feelings by making a statement on the festival”, Maulana said. Mosques are being covered considering the tension that may arise due to the splashing of colours on mosques during Holi. On the other hand, the Police are holding peace meetings to maintain law and order.

Maulana Sadaqat Hussain had said, “No one should be coerced to play Holi. Doing so will create tension again. There has been tension 2 times before. If it happens now, I warn you, there will be riots.” Hence, the Administration should be alert.

The Hindus do not expect admsuch a threat is issued at a Police peace meeting related to Hindu festivals. When there is a BJP Government in power, the inaction of the Police in not arresting the culprit is not expected !
