Samastipur (Bihar) – A religious fanatic in Bihar Mohammed Izhar contacted a Bengali girl by opening a social media account with the name ‘Rakesh’. She was held hostage by him and was pressurised for marriage and religious conversion. On 26th December, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists released her from his trap at the Dalsing Sarai railway station.
1. Mohammed Izhar who is originally from Tajpur in Samastipur opened a social media account with the Hindu name ‘Rakesh’, contacted the victimised girl and brought her to Samastipur from Kolkata in May 2022. She then found out that Rakesh is a Muslim and is a father of 2 kids. When she insisted on going back home, she was abused by him.
2. The victimised girl called her mother and informed that she was held hostage by Izhar. Then her mother filed a complaint at the Kolkata Police Station.

3. According to the information obtained from the Kolkata Police, the Police from Tajpur Police Station released the girl and kept her in the Police Station. Soon after getting the information from the Police, the girl’s mother reached the Police Station and the Police handed over the girl to her mother.
4. When the girl was returning back with her mother, she was again trapped by Izhar and his accomplices at the Dalsing Sarai railway station. That time, Vishwa Hindu Parishad got this information. They reached the railway station and freed the girl and her mother.
