Psychological and spiritual efforts required to bear the adverse times – 3

H.H. Sandeep Alshi

If an individual performs spiritual practice in the present birth, he will get rewarded in each birth. Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale is a ‘Moksha Guru’, who thinks of the welfare of the entire human race. Real welfare of an individual lies in God-realisation. Hence, on the backdrop of the impending World War 3, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale does not get thoughts about a country that is defined by its geographical boundaries; instead, He gets the thought that sattvik people (irrespective of the country they belong to) should survive so as to realise God. All said and done, as part of His duty and as gratitude unto the Nation, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale is incessantly active for the overall welfare of India. – H.H. Sandeep Alshi

In our previous Issues, we started with – Preparations required at the psychological level to face the adverse times. So far, we have covered – the Importance of taking autosuggestions (AS), various AS techniques and the methods of taking AS, specific AS on floods, riots, etc. Read on for further understanding.

Some examples of autosuggestions to avoid getting emotionally involved with relatives during the adverse times

Autosuggestions to tolerate temporary separation from relatives

Example : Mr Bhalchandra resides in a village in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. His son Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, who reside in Nagpur, visit him in May every year. However, now he thinks that they will not be able to visit him for a few years because of the impending World War. He is disturbed with the thought of this separation.

Autosuggestion (Technique A2)

Whenever I get disturbed by the thought of not being able to meet my son Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in the month of May due to the World War, I will realise that by God’s grace this war period will soon end and after that I will definitely be able to meet them. I will realise that for my safety and for the safety of Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, everyone should avoid travelling; hence, I will pay attention to my spiritual practice and make efforts to remain blissful.

Autosuggestion (Technique A3)

1. I am wondering whether I will be able to meet my son Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren this year, as travel has to be avoided due to the World War.
2. I am becoming aware that whenever I miss Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, I can now make video calls on my mobile. Accordingly, I am making a video call to Jay.
3. Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren are sitting in their living room and are talking to me.
4. Upon knowing that Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren are doing well, I am feeling good.
5. Jay is telling me about the scope of his job during the present practice of work-from-home.
6. My granddaughter is telling me about the prize she won in an Online exam.
7. My grandson is showing me the beautiful pictures he drew. I am praising him.
8. My daughter-in-law is lovingly inquiring about my health, medication, and exercises.
9. I am feeling as if I am talking to Jay, my daughter-in-law and grandchildren in person.
10. We are all deciding to celebrate my grandson’s birthday next week through a video call. It is boosting my spirits.
11. After the conversation, I am expressing gratitude unto the Holy feet of God with the thought that it is by His grace this modern technology is available to us, and consequently, I was able to experience the joy of meeting Jay, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

Increasing acceptance

Autosuggestions for accepting whatever happens to relatives in the future after telling them about the preparations required to survive the adverse times and the importance of performing spiritual practice

Example : Even though Mr Rajaram has told his relatives about the preparations required to survive the adverse times and the need to perform spiritual practice, he continues to worry about what will happen to them.

Autosuggestion (Technique B2)

Whenever I start worrying about what will happen to my relatives during the adverse times, I will realise that I have already communicated all the possible information to them about the preparations required to survive the adverse times and the need to perform spiritual practice. I understand and accept that whatever happens to them in future will be as per their destiny.

Autosuggestion (Technique A3)

1. I am worrying about what will happen to my relatives during the adverse times.
2. I am realising that the best way to help relatives is to inform them about the preparations required to survive during the adverse times and telling them the importance of performing spiritual practice.
3. I am telling my relatives various aspects of the preparations (such as stocking the essentials) required to survive during the adverse times that I learnt from Sanatan’s Texts and website.
4. I am also convincing my relatives about the importance of performing spiritual practice.
5. They are responding positively.
6. I am expressing gratitude unto God for bringing all these things to my notice.

Remaining in an observer state

Autosuggestion to remain in an observer state or for adopting a philosophical attitude if some relatives are not serious about the adverse times.

Example : Mr Tukaram has convinced his nephew Mr Dhananjay about the seriousness of the adverse times; yet, he is casual about it and does not believe in spiritual practice. This worries Mr Tukaram about how his only nephew will survive during the adverse times.

Autosuggestion (Technique B2)

Dhananjay has already been told the importance of emergency preparations to survive the adverse times and performing spiritual practice. Now, it is up to him to decide whether to act accordingly. Instead of worrying about Dhananjay, it is now in my own interest to look at the events that will arise by handing his responsibility to God and remaining in an observer state.

(Autosuggestions can be made to prevent getting emotionally involved with friends, neighbours, etc.)

Remedies to bring the mind to a positive state whenever mental discomfort increases with the thought of the adverse times so that it accepts the autosuggestions pertaining to it

Some people are very emotional or mentally fragile. A mere thought of floods, earthquakes, World War, etc. and the associated anxiety and stress, makes their mind very restless. They get very scared.
