Slogans of ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ raised barging into former MP Navneet Rana’s rally; Vandalised chairs

Incident at Khallar, Amravati

Amravati, Maharashtra – A public rally addressed by BJP leader and former MP Navneet Rana at Khallar village, Daryapur constituency of Amravati, turned chaotic on Saturday, 16th November 2024 night, according to the Police.

Ms. Rana, the actor-turned-politician, was campaigning for the saffron party’s Ramesh Bundile, contesting from Daryapur for the 20th November Assembly elections. According to officials, the unrest began after 10 p.m. when some people disrupted the rally. “As Ms. Rana addressed the crowd, heckling and hooting were heard, and after her speech concluded, chairs were allegedly thrown, and slogans were shouted against her. When her supporters objected, it became a verbal altercation,” Superintendent of Police, Amravati, S. Vishal Anand told to the reporters. Ms. Navneet Rana said, “After the meeting, I was meeting everyone. At that time, some people were saying, ‘We will kill you, chop you, we are the people of Allah’. When I asked them to be quiet, they all became aggressive. Some even tried to spit on me”.

Complaint filed by Navneet Rana

MLA Ravi Rana said that Ms Navneet Rana went to the meeting under Police protection. An attack was also attempted. Objects were thrown at her. Fortunately, she was not harmed; but the Police were injured. Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand said that an investigation has been started in this matter. A complaint has been filed by Ms Navneet Rana at Khallar Police Station.

If the accused are not arrested, the Hindu society will take to the streets – Ms Navneet Rana

Navneet Rana said, “We were campaigning in peace; but during the speech heckling and hooting was heard in a strange manner. My workers tried to convince them; but they suddenly attacked us. My activists and bodyguards took me out safely. If the accused are not arrested after registering a case in this case, the entire Hindu society will take to the streets”.
