Christian neighbours wipe rangoli and kick Diwali lamp lit in front of a Hindu family’s house in Hyderabad

Mr Chetan Gadi (Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh)

Hyderabad (Telangana) – A Hindu family living in a building in Hyderabad, drew Rangoli outside the door of their house on Diwali. A Christian family living in front of their house objected to the Rangoli and asked them to wipe it. When the Hindu family refused, the Christian family wiped the Rangoli and kicked the earthen lamp placed there.

The Christian woman threatened to beat up the Hindu family. Her son started abusing the Hindu family. When the video of the incident went viral on social media, Hindu organisations protested outside the building and the Police registered a case against the Christian family.

Mr Chetan Gadi (Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) participated in this protest.
When Hindu activists demanded to see a copy of the case registered, the Police refused. Later, the Police took 3 Hindu activists to the Police station and produced the copy of the complaint. The Hindus demanded that the Christian family be charged under Sections 295 and 295A of the IPC and be arrested.

Editorial Viewpoint

Is it that secularism should be followed only by Hindus while people of other sects continue to attack Hindus on the basis of religion ? This must stop. Hindus should unite and protest in a lawful manner against this !
