Foreign Minister Jaishankar takes a jibe at the US regarding F-16 deal with Pakistan !
Washington (US) – A few years ago, the United States had given 85 US-made F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan. Now the US has announced a package of more than ₹3,500 crore for the maintenance of these jets. India has objected to this. India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has raised questions over the merits of the US-Pakistan relationship. He said, ‘For someone to say I am doing this because it is all counter-terrorism content and so when you are talking of an aircraft like a capability of an F-16 where everybody knows, you know where they are deployed and their use. You are not fooling anybody by saying these things’. Jaishankar also said, ‘If I get a chance to talk to US policy makers, I will definitely show them what they are doing’. He was speaking at a program organised by the Indian American community in Washington.
