British Prime Minister’s Office apologises to Hindus

Meat and liquor offered in a program organised on the occasion of Diwali

London (Britain) – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted a function at his 10 Downing Street on the occasion of Diwali. Prominent persons from the Hindu community as well as political leaders participated in it. Food served during this event consisted of meat and liquor. The Hindu organisations here criticised the Prime Minister over this. Now the Prime Minister’s office has apologised to the Hindus in this case.

In a formal letter written to Prime Minister Starmer, Indian-origin MP Shivani Raja raised objections to some of the dishes in the Diwali programme. A spokesperson from Starmer’s office said, understanding the sentiments of the Hindu community, this would not happen again in future events. We know the power of Hindu sentiments.
