Condolences expressed by Prime Minister Modi

Acharya Dharmendra,

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – Acharya Dharmendra, the leading Saint and Hindu leader of the Shriram Janmabhoomi movement, renounced His body on the 19th of September. After His death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences. Acharya Dharmendra had been ill for the past few days. He was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at SMS hospital. The Prime Minister was constantly inquiring about His health.

Active participation in the Shriram Janmabhoomi movement

In Ayodhya, Acharya Dharmendra was active in the Shriram Janmabhoomi movement. In the Babri Mosque demolition case, Acharya Dharmendra was accused along with LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi. When the verdict was about to come in this case, He had said, I am the number one accused in this case. Why should we be afraid of punishment ? Over the years, He was associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. When it came to Hindu issues, He used to express His views emphatically.

Introduction by Acharya Dharmendra

Acharya Dharmendra was born in Malvada, Gujarat, on 9th January 1942. Mahatma Ramchandra Veer Maharaj was His father. His father’s personality influenced Acharya Dharmendra. At the age of 13, Acharya founded a daily newspaper called Vajrang. At present, He was living in the monastery in Biratnagar, Jaipur. There, He was practicing His spiritual practice. A few years ago, Acharya Dharmendra visited the Sanatan Sanstha’s ashram at Ramnathi, Goa.
