Only 22 cases of sound-pollution against the year-round loudspeakers on mosques, while 230 cases during Hindu festivals

Mumbai – “The Pollution Control Board has published many reports on the extent of sound-pollution caused during Hindu festivals; however, not a single such report has been published about the loudspeakers on the mosques which caused nuisance during other Muslim festivals. This is religious prejudice of the Government against Hindus. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) strongly condemns this prejudice of a ‘Secular’ Government and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. In 7 years from 2015 to 2021, the Board filed 230 cases on organisations that celebrated Dahi-handi, Ganeshotsav and Navaratrotsav; however, in the same period, only 22 cases were filed against the Muslims, as revealed through an RTI. The Board has thus maligned Hindus through their prejudiced action. Hence, all associated office bearers of the Board should be suspended”, said Mr Manoj Khadaye (Coordinator of HJS for Konkan region, West Maharashtra and Gujarat) during a Press Conference organised at the Mumbai Patrakar Sangh.
