Hindi film ‘Masoom Sawaal’ poster stirs controversy for depicting Shrikrushna on sanitary pad

Strong censure on social media

The intention underlying the display of this image is not to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, but to make them comprehend the denigration –  Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat

Mumbai – A poster has been released of a Hindi film titled ‘Masoom Sawaal’. This poster has a photo of a sanitary pad on which there is a picture of Bhagavan Shrikrushna along with the actors of this film.  The poster is being strongly condemned on social media. The director and actors of the film have explained they had no intention of hurting anyone’s feelings.

1. Ekavali Khanna, an actress in this film, has said that she didn’t know anything about it; but if it has happened, the producer must not have any intention to hurt anyone’s sentiments. The objective of the film is only to remove wrong notions existing in society. There is no room for superstitions in today’s generation, but some ill practices are forcefully imposed on women.

2. Santosh Upadhyay, the director of the film, said that the whole film is based on women’s menstruation; therefore, a sanitary pad was shown. However, there is no picture of Bhagavan Shrikrushna actually on the pad.

Editorial viewpoint

Hindus’ Deities are denigrated stooping to such a low level; still, no stringent law is passed to take action against the offenders and to severely punish them. It is the most shameful thing for Hindus !
