Six killed, 30 injured in mass shooting at Independence Day parade in Chicago, USA

Chicago (USA) – The mass shooting incident that took place on the Independence Day parade in Chicago has claimed 6 lives, while 30 others were injured. Police have arrested 22-year-old Robert Crimo and seized a rifle from the scene.

The number of gun violence incidents is on the rise in the United States. A shooting that took place on 24th May in Texas killed 19 students and two teachers, while 10 people were killed in an attack in a supermarket in New York on 14th May. According to the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), there have been at least 309 mass shootings so far in the US in 2022. This gun violence has claimed the lives of 179 children up to 11 years of age and 670 children between the ages of 12 and 17. In 2021, there were 693 such incidents.
