Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif provided financial help to terrorist Hafiz Saeed’s organisation

Editorial comment

Would Sharif, who provided financial assistance to a terrorist who attacked India, ever think of good relations with India after becoming Pakistan’s Prime Minister ?

Islamabad (Pakistan) – The newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif was earlier Governor of Punjab. As a Chief Minister, Shehbaz Sharif took decisions that were beneficial for the terrorist Hafiz Saeed. He also helped Saeed’s organisation monetarily.

Hafiz Saeed, the Chief of Terrorist Organisation Lashkar -e -Taiba formed the organisation Jamaat-ud-Dawa. This organisation collects funds for the cause of religion and social welfare projects. These funds are utilised to teach the modern youth about the Middle Ages mentality. Under the guise of religious education, the youth are indoctrinated into fundamentalism. A chosen few of these youth are sent to terrorist training centres. In the past, Pakistan has sent terrorists to various countries. Many of these terrorists have been known to have connections with the Jamaat-ud-Dawa.

Jamaat-ud-Dawa

Shehbaz Sharif has monetarily helped the Jamaat-ud-Dawa in various ways as Chief Minister of Punjab. In June 2013, the treasury of Punjab Province gave 6.1 crore to Jamaat -ud-Dawa. This money was given to  Jamaat -ud-Dawa’s Markaz-e-Taiba. Similarly, in Sharif’s Chief ministership, 3.5 crore were given to Knowledge Park of Markaz-e-Taiba. All this is seen in the official papers of the Province of Punjab. These organisations were given money despite knowing that Hafiz Saeed is accused of the 26th November 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai.
