Nizamabad (Telangana) – The religious fanatics resorted to violence at Bodhan town in the District due to the installation of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; leading to the imposition of curfew in the city. The religious fanatics have claimed that no permission was obtained for the installation of the statue and therefore, it created a brawl. Few persons have been taken into custody in this context.

Hindus installed the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Bodhan town, but it was opposed by religious fanatics as per the information given by the Police. It led to a brawl and the religious fanatics started pelting stones after some time. The Police had to use tear gas for dispersing the mob, wherein, a few Policemen have also been injured.
BJP leader Dharmapuri Arvind has tweeted that it was planned to install a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Ambedkar Chowk in Bodhan town which is located on the border with Maharashtra. Bodhan Zilha Parishad had granted permission for installing the statue, but the goons from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party and AIMIM created a ruckus. He has also accused that the TRS leaders were openly threatening against the installation of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
