Lviv (Ukraine) – Russia bombed a maternity hospital in the south-eastern city of Mariupol. Many newborns and their mothers were being treated there. The attack has severely damaged the maternity hospital. 17 people were injured, while several women and children were trapped under the rubble. Russia had previously vowed not to target civilian areas; however, Ukraine has accused Russia of not following it. Al Jazeera reports that Russia has bombed two hospitals in the city west of the capital Kyiv as well as Mariupol.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also posted a video of the attack, calling it an ‘atrocity’.
