PM Modi takes on Congress in Rajya Sabha
New Delhi – Prime Minister Modi launched a verbal attack on Congress in Rajya Sabha during Motion of Thanks. He said, ‘If there was no Congress in the country after Independence, democracy in India would have been free from the dynastic rule. Had Congress not been there, this country would have walked on the path of national resolutions, instead of taking to a foreign view, there would have been no blot of Emergency, casteism would not have prevailed, there would’ve been no massacre of Sikhs, no terrorism, Kashmiri Hindus need not have left Kashmir, and ordinary citizens would not have had to wait for basic amenities’. He was speaking at the President’s address in the budget session of Parliament. Earlier, he had also addressed the Lok Sabha. Modi attacked Congress referring to Gandhi’s statement, ‘Dissolve the Congress as we get Independence’.
How Nehru and Congress had betrayed Goa: Declined to send armed forces, denied support to liberation efforts (writes @SherekarSuyash)https://t.co/VnM3OWX6Tb

Modi further said,
1. Congress never thought beyond dynastic rule. The biggest threat to the country is from the dynastic parties. When a family becomes influential in the party, talent gets undermined. All parties must implement democracy within their internal affairs. Congress should consider this on priority.
2. Congress was removing its own Chief Ministers over trivial reasons during its tenure. It has so far thrown away (dissolved) the various elected State Governments around 100 times. Now with what authority are they talking about democracy ? One Prime Minister had thrown out 50 State Governments. The people need an answer to this. That is what they are suffering today. Congress’ lust for power has created bitterness in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh today.

Goa remained under foreign rule for 15 years even after India’s Independence due to Nehru !
Prime Minister Modi targeted Congress, citing the example of Goa. He said, ‘Had similar steps been taken the way Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel made strategies for Junagadh and Hyderabad, Goa wouldn’t have been under foreign rule till so late. People of Goa would not have had to endure the tyranny of the Portuguese, but then Prime Minister Nehru thought his image in the world was important. The people of Goa were left to fend for themselves’.
Congress dismissed Hridaynath Mangeshkar from All India Radio for reciting Swatantryaveer Savarkar’s poem !
It does not suit the members of the Congress to talk about freedom of expression. They have time and again shown their anti-democratic mindset. pic.twitter.com/0tEtyHnJ5m

Modi said, ‘Lata Mangeshkar’s family hailed from Goa. The country needs to know how her family was treated. Latadidi’s brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar was dismissed from All India Radio. His only crime was that he had recited a poem on Savarkar on the radio. Before reciting this poem on the radio, Hridaynath Mangeshkar had met Swatantryaveer Savarkar. At that time, Savarkar had asked him, ‘Do you want to go to jail by reciting my poem on the radio ?’ Mangeshkar had mentioned this incident in an interview. After Hridaynath recited Savarkar’s poem on the radio, he was fired within the next 8 days’.
