Jitendra Awhad, a Minister in the Maharashtra Government and a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, asked, ‘They don’t want girls wearing short fashionable clothes. They also ban girls who wear full-body clothes and hijab on their heads from entering colleges. What exactly is the culture that they expect ?’ “BJP says ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save daughter, educate daughter)’; but if she is a Muslim, then it says ‘Beti Hatao (get rid of her)’,” he said.
