Firoz Bakht said that the Centre should take into consideration all best systems of all religions and sects, so also Civil Laws of developed countries and prepare the draft of UCC within 3 months according to the sentiments of the Indian Constitution.
Bakht said that UCC administers the same set of secular civil laws to govern different people belonging to different religions and supersedes the right of citizens to be governed under different personal laws based on their religion and ethnicity.

What is meant by Uniform Civil Code ?
It is a common law for every citizen of India, without any discrimination with regard to his Dharma, caste/ creed. Under the UCC, the same law will apply while distributing property or in personal matters like marriage, divorce, maintenance, adoption. As Hindus cannot marry twice, Muslims also will not be permitted to marry twice.
