  • Such an anti-Hindu act by the political party which brutally killed hundreds of Hindus protesting for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in the year 1990 is not surprising.

Lucknow (UP) – The Samajwadi Party has formed a pre-election alliance with several smaller parties ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and has declared its candidature for some seats in the State. Among them is former MLA Nahid Hasan, a gangster against whom several cases have been filed. Hasan is said to be the mastermind of the conspiracy that forced Hindus to flee the village of Kairana, which has come to be known as the Second Kashmir. The BJP has termed the Samajwadi Party’s decision to field Nahid Hasan as Jinnahism.

Nahid Hasan is the MLA of this constituency and his mother Tabassum is a former MP. Police had taken action against the two in January last year under the UP Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. Hasan was in prison for a month before getting bail. Likewise, the Samajwadi Party has declared Rafiq Ansari as its candidate from Meerut in western Uttar Pradesh. Several crimes have been registered against him also.
