Copies of Hindu Holy Scripture ‘Manusmriti’ burnt by anti-Hindus

If there is any Hindu Holy Scripture which is wellknown other than Shrimadbhagawad Geeta, it is the Manusmriti. Most of the publicity it gets in newspapers concerns its burning.

But, who burns it ? Neo-buddhists, so-called downtrodden, who do not have any relationship with it. Manusmriti was written over 2,300 years ago. Instead of just burning it, it is worth exploring if it contains something relevant for the present times too.

Editorial comments

  • Burning any Holy scripture is a crime by law. Are the Police sleeping while the Hindu scriptures are being burnt and the videos of the same are being spread on social media platforms ?
  • Anti-blasphemy laws must be made to respect the religious sentiments of Hindus. All the pro-Hindu organisations must unite and demand such laws.

New Delhi – Some Hindu-haters appealed to celebrate 25th December as ‘Manusmriti Dahan Diwas’, a day to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. Former BBC Hindi journalist Meena Kotwal burned Manusmriti and aired the video on Twitter, urging society to burn Manusmriti. In her tweet, she said, Did you burn the Manusmriti the way I did today ? It is so much fun to do so. Now let’s do it regularly and not only burn it but also destroy the thoughts in it. Baba Saheb Ambedkar did the same. – (Kotwal who disseminates only one side of the information ! Dr Ambedkar. If Manusmriti was burnt by the incidental Dr Ambedkar, then after studying it, he presented ‘Hindu Code Bill’. Realise that anti-Hindu women like Kotwal are deliberately hiding this story ! – Editor)

Meena Kotwal in another tweet said, the mean Manu who considered women and Kshudras as animals, I would call Manu as the meanest. Why do you feel bad for burning a Scripture which is based on discrimination ?

Tweeter trend by pro-Hindus against burning Manusmruti !

After that, trends like #Manusmriti Dahan Divas, Hum_Manusmriti_Dahan_Karenge (we will burn Manusmruti) were trending on Twitter by the Hindu-haters.  Among them, anti-Hindu organisations like Akhil Bhartiya Parisangh, etc. tweeted in its support. To counter this, devout Hindus tweeted about the importance of a great spiritual text, ‘Manusmruti’. # Hum_Manusmriti_pujenge (we will worship Manusmruti). They received huge support from the devout Hindus all over the country. (Now it is time to teach a lesson to Anti-Hindu elements in a legal way by conducting a real movement along with creating awareness by trending tweets. – Editor)

Unique Manusmruti teaches respect for women

Here are some verses from Manusmruti that teach us to respect women. This will teach not only the anti-Hindus of today, but also the so-called feminists regarding the rhetoric against Hindu Dharma that spewing of venom against Manusmruti is baseless, imaginary and false. Information we are publishing here is courtesy a booklet – ‘Should Manusmruti be burnt or studied ?’ published by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and compiled by Mr Ramesh Shinde (National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti).

1. Manusmruti, Chapter 2, Verse 145 – The teacher is ten times more venerable than a sub-teacher, the father a hundred times more than the teacher, but the mother a thousand times more than the father.

2. Manusmruti, Chapter 3, Verse 56 – Where women are honoured, there the Gods are pleased; but where they are not honoured, no sacred rite yields rewards.

3. Manusmruti, Chapter 3, Verse 57 – Where the female relations live in grief, the family soon wholly perishes; but that family where they are not unhappy ever prospers.

4. Manusmruti, Chapter 3, Verse 114 – Without hesitation food should be given, even before his guests, to the following persons – newlymarried women, to infants, to the sick and to pregnant women.

5. Manusmruti, Chapter 8, Verses 407 – Don’t take money from pregnant women who travel by boat.

6. Manusmruti, Chapter 9, Verse 3 – Her father protects (her) in childhood, her husband protects (her) in youth, and her sons protect (her) in old age; a woman should not be left independent.

2,300 years ago, physical strength was essential to protect women. Back then, women were weaker because there were no weapons such as guns, etc. At that time, Manu expressed this great thought of protecting women.

Manu said that the father, husband and son should protect the women of the house. Without studying this background those who say that ‘Manu was against the independence of women’ and burn the Manusmruti are intellectually bankrupt.

Manusmruti, Chapter 9, Verse 118 – But to the sisters the brothers shall severally give (portions) out of their shares, each out of his share one-fourth part; those who refuse to give (it), will become outcasts.
