Shillong (Meghalaya) – Labour Minister Sanbor Shullai, the only BJP Minister in the Meghalaya Government, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for the protection of Christians in Karnataka.
Karnataka Government will be conducting a survey of the Christians in the State. So, Shullai has urged PM Modi to intervene in the survey. Such a survey is unconstitutional and creates a sense of distrust among Christians in the State, he said. BJP has only 2 MLAs in Meghalaya. The State is led by the National People’s Party and the BJP.

Shullai in the letter requested PM Modi to note the views of Archbishop Peter Machado and the Christians of Karnataka. He said India has a secular image globally and such a survey could tarnish its image.
