Editorial comment

After passing such a law, its effective implementation is also necessary. Many of the States have passed laws banning cow slaughter but still, cow slaughter is taking place in those States which is not expected by Hindus !

CM Bommai said it has been observed that conversions are taking place by cheating, oppressing, and luring people. It is best to take legal support to stop these things.

Before handing over the memorandum to CM Bommai, Mr Pramod Muthalik said that cases of conversions by force, luring and cheating are increasing in the State. Conversions are happening even in hospitals, schools, etc. People from backward communities are the targets for conversion. The number of unauthorised churches is also increasing; therefore, a law against conversion needs to be passed to curb such things. All facilities granted to the converted people should be cancelled, demanded Mr Muthalik with CM Bommai.
