Comilla (Bangladesh) – The Durga Puja Pandal located in the Nanua Dighir area, was attacked by religious fanatics and the Idols of the Deities in the pandal were vandalised. The attack was carried out after rumours of disrespecting the Quran spread.

Noted Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin tweeted about this incident and said ‘Some anti-Hindu Muslim fanatics secretly put the Quran on the feet of Hanuman statue at Durga puja pandal in Comilla, Bangladesh. It is just an excuse to attack Hindus in the name of hurting religious feelings. Hope the Government will save the minority community’.

An attempt will be made to show that they are doing something, but in reality, there will be no protection. Had it been so, then the genocide of Hindus in countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc. would have stopped and their population would have increased there – Editor)

In this regard, Bangladesh Hindu Unity Council has said that all the Hindus here must be alert. We are in touch with the Police to protect the Hindus. (Whether the Police is from India or Bangladesh, it can never be trusted that they will protect Hindus – Editor)
