India imports coal from Australia. Presently, more than 200 crore kg. thermal coal is stuck at China’s port for many months, as a result, India might have to face an electricity shortage. Australia sells coal to India at the rate of 12 to 15 dollars per ton. It is the cheapest good quality coal in the world.
