  • This highlights the need to implement anti-Conversion law throughout the country.
  • Was the Administration asleep when such large numbers were being converted in the State ?
  • Janata Dal (United) and BJP are in power in Bihar. Drastic steps are necessary to prevent such incidents in the future.

Patna (Bihar) – In rural Bihar, a large number of people from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are being converted by Christian missionaries. People from Chandan, Katoria and Bounsi villages of Banka District are the main victims. Churches located in villages have become conversion hubs.

By giving Hindus wrong information about their Scriptures, attraction towards Christianity is generated in their minds. Poor people of rural areas are lured into Christianity. Such incidents have come to light in the Districts of Gaya and Saran recently.

‘Dainik Jagran’ carried a detailed report by Dr. Rahul Kumar on this. Church representatives hold meetings every Sunday in remote areas, when Christian prayers are sent for the converts.

In the last 2-3 years, over 10,000 people have been converted in these areas. During the lockdown period, borewells with hand pumps were set up, which were called ‘Jesus Wells’.

The innocent villagers were told Jesus has entered these hand pumps, making them a natural source of water. Converted families were also given hand pumps. The children from Christian families are called to the churches for free education and they are given some stationery; the converted families are given some money for the marriage of girls. A few weeks ago, news of conversion spread in Saran, Bihar. Christian missionaries are luring and converting Hindus. According to the villagers, more than 500 people have converted in one year, which includes a large number of women. According to information published in ‘Dainik Jagran’ in July 2021, conversions have taken place in 6 villages in the past two years.

Banka’s SP Arvind Gupta states in the report published by ‘Dainik Jagran’ that democracy grants the right to religious freedom; therefore, any person is free to accept any religion. Referring to conversions, he said that forcible conversions are a crime; but we have not received any complaint so far. If a complaint is received, action will be taken. (Two well-known newspapers are reporting about conversions through some lure; despite this, the Police are ignoring the issue, which is shocking ! How will such Police protect Hindus ? – Editor)
