Mumbai – “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj awakened Kshatratej (Radiance of Kshatriya) among the sattvik people who grew up listening to Abhangs-Kirtans. He organised them against the jihadi looters. Chhatrapati Shivaji never neglected Dharma while winning wars against the enemies of Swarajya. While on a tour of Tamil Nadu, he noticed that the Mughals had demolished two large temples at Tiruvannamalai and built a mosque there. Chhatrapati Shivaji demolished those mosques and built temples there. The temple of Shri Saptakoteshwar in Goa was desecrated by the Portuguese. This temple too was rebuilt by Shivaraya. He created a Marathi dictionary to remove Urdu-Persian words that had entered the Marathi language. He stopped using the Islamic Almanac ‘Hijri’, and started his own Hindu Almanac. In short, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did not create a State merely by taking a piece of land; he established the ‘Hindavi Swarajya’ by defeating the political, cultural and religious aggressors”, said Mr. Mohan Shetye (President of History-lover’s Board) in a special interaction organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on ‘Punashch Vhave, Hindavi Swarajya’ on Shiv Jayanti. Over 17,300 people viewed this event on Facebook and YouTube.
Advocate Virendra Ichalkaranjikar (National President of Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad) said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was not only a good administrator but also one who ruled as per the Hindu Dharma. Today, people of Communist ideology are dividing Hindus by propagating that Shivaji Maharaj was not a devout Hindu, he was a secular king. The Left would have started propaganda if Karl Marx had born at that time that Marx had met Shivaji and Shivaji established the state as per Marx’ instructions ! However, since Maharaj was a follower of Hindu Dharma, he was coronated according to Dharma. At the time of coronation, a post of ‘Panditrao’ was created as a Dharmadhikari (In-charge of Dharma issues) in the Ashta Pradhan Mandal (Cabinet). The person in this position had the responsibility to ensure that the judicial processes are conducted as per Dharma”.
Mr. Prashant Juvekar (Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in Jalgaon) said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj not only pledged to protect temples or cows in the temple of Shri Rayareshwar, but also to establish the ‘Hindavi Swarajya’ in the face of desecration of temples, atrocities against women and cow-slaughter by five Mughal kings. Therefore, temples, cows, women and people were happy in his kingdom. We want to follow his path and be active for ‘Punashch Hindavi Swarajya’, that is, ‘Hindu Rashtra’.
