MP – Man who campaigned against forest mafia killed in tractor ‘accident’

Hindus do not expect such incidents to take place in a state with BJP rule. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should view the matter seriously and take stringent action on the concerned people and also against the forest mafia of the state.

Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh) – Santram Valmiki was crushed to death by a tractor in Murawas village of Lateri taluka in Madhya Pradesh. Religious fanatic forest land mafia, with the help of corrupt forest officers, were allegedly encroaching on government land. Santram Valmiki had complained to the administration regarding this. Since then, accused Faqir Mohammad was looking to settle the score with Santram. Faqir Mohammad, his sons Irfan, Rizwan, Umar Farooq and Hiro, and Shakeel killed Santram in a busy market. After this murder the locals staged a sit-in, demanding justice in the case.

  1. Afforestation was being carried out by the Forest Department and Forest Development corporation at the expense of the government on thousands of acres of land. These trees were cut by the forest mafia and the land used for cultivation. Santram was raising this issue with the administration since 2014. He had also complained to the Governor and the Chief Minister; but no action was taken by the administration and the Government. (Even if you do not pay attention to the complaint, then how will you take stringent action against the culprits? – Editor)
  2. After one such complaint, on September 10, 2020, the District Collector got an earth mover to run amok on the land of innocent people and destroyed their fields.
