Centre gets Notice
Although the Hindu Marriage Act is defined by the Constitution of India, Hindu religion does not permit such a union. Given that, Hindus expect the court to oppose such PIL.

New Delhi – A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court with regards to incorporating the same sex marriage into Hindu Marriage Act. The Centre and relevant parties are asked to respond within four weeks in this matter. Person named Abhijit Aiyyar Mitra has filed this PIL. In his argument, Abhijit said that there is no such assertion within the Hindu Marriage Act that the marriage should happen only between a Hindu man and woman.
