Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust urges for donation

Ayodhya (U.P.) -10 thousand copper rods are required for the construction of Shri Ram Temple on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. Mr. Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad urged that, ‘devotees who wish to donate for this construction are requested to donate copper.’ Copper does not rust. Thus construction done using copper is durable for thousands of years. Copper has also been used in the construction of Statue of Liberty in the United States.
Mr. Champat Rai addressed the press conference as given ahead :
- This Shri Ram Temple will be constructed on 3 acres of land and will take 3 to 3.5 years to complete. The iron will not be used in the construction at all.
- Larsen and Toubro, a construction company and IIT engineers are assisting in the construction. IIT Chennai has been consulted for testing the strength of the soil. The soil below 60 meters has been tested. It has been tested how resistant the soil would be during earthquakes.
- Remnants recovered during excavation of Shri Ram Temple have been exhibited at for the devotees who come for darshan of Shri Ramlala.
For Mandir construction, copper plates will be used to fuse stone blocks with each other. The plates should be 18 inches long, 30 mm wide & 3 mm in depth.10,000 such plates may be required in total structure. We call upon Shri Rambhakts to donate such copper plates to the trust.
