India now 5th in the world in the death toll due to corona

New Delhi – For the past few days, 50 thousand or more corona cases are recorded daily in India. In the last 24 hours, 55,079 fresh COVID-19 cases and 779 fatalities have been recorded in the country. The total number of corona infected patients in the country has reached 16,38,871. Due to this, India now has the fifth highest COVID-19 death toll in the world after overtaking Italy’s fatality count. Italy’s fatality count due to corona is 35,132, as of now. Only the US (1,52,070), Brazil (91,263), the UK (46,084) and Mexico (46,000) have reported higher COVID-19 fatalities than India.

According to the information of the Ministry of Health, as of 30th June, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country was 5,66,840. It has increased the most in the month of July. An estimated 1 million new corona infected cases were recorded in the month of July.
