New Delhi – 2 Covid-19 vaccines have been developed with clinical trials on animals and after the success of trials, they have received permission to start human trials, informed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Director General, Balram Bhargava. He did not elaborate on the time required for manufacturing final vaccines.

He further said that ‘they have carried out clinical trials on rats and rabbit and both had been successful for ‘toxicity studies’. More than 1,000 people will be enrolled in this process. Nearly 60% of the vaccines developed in the World are from India, and if any country develops a vaccine, they will have to communicate to India for their manufacture.’
