Sub-Inspector of Police Vinay Tiwari

Kanpur (UP) – The Police Sub-inspector Vinay Tiwari of Choubepur Police station has been suspended for providing pre-information about the Police raid to Vikas Dubey who is responsible for the death of 8 Policemen, said Mohit Agrawal, Police IG.

A team of Police officers and constables from Choubepur Police station were deputed to arrest an infamous gangster Vikas Dubey who was charged with an attempt to murder. When the Police team arrived at Biokaru village on 3rd July night, the henchmen of Vikas Dubey who were hiding nearby resorted to indiscriminate firing on the Police team. As a result, 8 Policemen were killed on the spot. During the investigation of the mobile phone of PSI Vinay Tiwari, it was found that Tiwari had passed on advance information to Vikas Dubey that the Police team would be deputed to arrest him. Even the thorough interrogation of Tiwari by the Police confirmed the above charge, along with Tiwari, one Police constable and a home guard are also suspected to be involved.

Tiwari had refused to register a complaint against Dubey

A few days back, a few persons approached Choubepur Police station to lodge a complaint against Vikas Dubey; however, Tiwari refused to register the complaint. Therefore, the Police are ready to lodge the FIR against Tiwari.

12 arrested, Dubey still absconding

In this case, the Police have arrested 12 ruffians. However, the main culprit Vikas Dubey is still absconding. On that day, Dubey has contacted above 12 persons. Therefore, an inquiry is being conducted against them.
